Every Toastmaster begins their journey with an Ice Breaker Speech |
Hi, I'm CorrieCate. Nice to meet you!
Each week on this blog you will find stories relating to what I've learned about Communication and Leadership since joining Toastmasters.
About Me:
I've been in Toastmasters for about four years. My only regret is that I didn't join sooner. Toastmasters has given me the confidence to speak up in front of groups, where the old Me would have stayed silent.
I'm currently in two clubs and currently serving as an area director. I live in Toronto with my family and our new dog. I'm a recovering perfectionist and I wear my heart on my sleeve.
Why Blogging?
Four years ago, before taking the plunge and going to my first Toastmasters meeting, I scoured the web for all the information I could find about Toastmasters and Public Speaking. Later, I turned to the blogosphere to help with the questions I had about various aspects of the program. Of course my fellow Toastmasters were a wealth of information- just not when the questions popped into my head in the middle of the night.
I've learned many valuable lessons from the incredible people I've met and the opportunities I've been given. I started this blog to share what I've learned, in the hopes I can help other questioning minds.
What questions do you have? Let me know in the comments.
